Message from Principal Jackson The first quarter has been very successful and our students are doing an amazing job. Thank you for your support of our teachers and all the hard work they do for our students each and every day.
The second quarter will begin with a bang...RED RIBBON WEEK is October 23-27. Please encourage your child to participate in the fun (see details below for themes of each day).
On October 25th at 6:30 in our library, Officer Mo Messner will have a special parent presentation on Internet Safety. Because of the adult nature of the topic, child care will be provided should you have to bring your children, but no children will be allowed in the presentation. We hope you will join us for this very worthwhile event!
Another special event next week is our AVID Showcase. On October 24th, we will have 40 visitors come tour our school and see the fabulous AVID strategies we use everyday at Evans. Just another example of why I am so proud to be a Panther!!
A group of students from Evans will participate in our annual Special Olympics Bowling Competition next week on October 25th. Let's wish these students the best of luck in this fun event.
Our 2nd Annual "Scare Drugs Away" dress up day is on October 31st. Please help us keep this a school appropriate event by following the guidelines below:
*No masks that cover the face.
*No blood, gore, and guts can be part of a costume and nothing depicting death or hate.
*Students must be in dress code.
*No weapons, fake or real.
*Nothing that prevents students from doing their "job" as a student (need to be able to still sit in desks and use writing utensils).
Please come join us on Saturday, October 21 for the MISD Holiday Bazaar at MHS from 9-4. We would also love to see you from 8:30-11:30 at MNHS for the Bedrooms, Backpacks, and Beyond parent seminar on drug prevention awareness.

Just place your Box Tops in a baggie (please check those expiration dates!), put your student's name and grade on the outside, and drop them off in the box in the school office. Evans Football Concession Stand Sign-Ups
Evans PTO needs volunteers to help run the Evans football concessions stand at home games. The games are on Tuesday evenings at McKinney High School. Even volunteering for just one shift would make a tremendous impact. We also need high school volunteers so if you have a high school student who needs service hours, here is an opportunity. All concession stand volunteers must wear closed toed shoes. If you have any questions, please contact Priscilla Harvey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sign up to Volunteer
Please remember that you must be approved through MISD before you can volunteer. Please click HERE to go online and complete your application.
